902 Brewing
902 brewing company is a 2,000 square foot industrial-style space with a rooftop located in the Communipaw area of Jersey City. The brewery is dog-friendly and boasts a spacious rooftop deck offering beautiful views of the Manhattan skyline. While no food is served on-site, customers are welcome to order takeout directly to the bar.
Serving Jersey City locals from its taproom since 2020, 902 brewing offers a large selection of ales and lagers that have been brewed with love on-site. On the menu you’ll find pilsners, stouts, pale ales, sours and peach mango hard seltzer. Events are held throughout the month, including live music performances, Halloween events and seasonal parties.

Departed Soles
Departed Soles is situated in the downtown area of Jersey City. This brewery has been crafting beers since 2015 and offers a selection of #DefinitelyNotGlutenFree and gluten-free beers.
The gluten-free beers are fermented in dedicated tanks, and canned on a dedicated line, so if you have a severe gluten allergy you can rest assured you’re safe drinking the beers here.
The owner Brian was inspired to research gluten-free beers when his best friend Chris was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. Sadly Chris died in a fatal car accident and Brian made it his mission to make his departed friend proud – hence the name, Departed Soles. He enrolled at the American Brewers Guild school and set about making beers suitable for everyone.
The company’s signature beer is the Imperial Belgian Ale called the Philosorapper, which is semi-sweet with hints of banana and clove. Departed Soles has brewed over 100 different beers since inception and offers a balance of new, seasonal, rotational, and mainstay options.

Best Beer Halls in Jersey City
Zeppelin Hall
Zeppelin Hall is a German-style biergarten serving European imports and U.S craft beers. From pilsners and wheat beers to IPAs and sours, Zeppelin Hall has over 100 different types of beer to choose from.
This enormous beer hall has large indoor spaces as well as an outdoor garden that’s perfect for sitting outside in summertime. With long community tables, there’s plenty of room for groups of friends and it’s easy to get chatting to new people. Hudson Hall
Hudson Hall is a busy neighborhood beer hall located close to Shoprite and Grove Street Path station. With tons of TV screens all over the walls it’s a popular place to watch sports – especially America football and the World Cup.
Staff are usually attentive and the bar offers a large selection of bottled and draft beers, including craft pours from local breweries such as Brooklyn Brewery, Departed Soles and Montauk Brewing Company. Food-wise the menu features a selection of European and American options, including pierogies, pretzels, smoked meats, burgers, salads and sandwiches.
On weekends DJ Monty usually takes to the decks playing chart hits and classic tunes. Happy Hour is also available on weekdays, from 3pm to 6pm, featuring $5 beers, $6 shots of tequila, $7 wines and $8 margaritas.
